Richard R. Schultz is an associate professor of electrical engineering at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from the University of North Dakota and the M.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Notre Dame. Schultz joined the faculty of UND Electrical Engineering in 1995 as an assistant professor and was promoted to associate professor in 2000. Schultz has taught courses in electric circuits, signals and systems, computer programming, digital signal and image processing, embedded systems, instrumentation, telecommunications, and capstone design. He coteaches a course in concept generation and technology entrepreneurship with Craig Silvernagel. Schultz has published more than forty papers and delivered more than twenty presentations during the past decade. His recent research interests are in digital image and video processing, super-resolution image reconstruction, remote sensing, and aerospace payload development. His educational interests are in signal and image processing, embedded systems, technology entrepreneurship, and systems engineering pedagogy.
